About The Position

The Electrical Engineer at Tetra Tech will play a crucial role in designing and specifying electrical systems for municipal and industrial water/wastewater treatment facilities. This position involves collaboration with senior engineers and project teams to ensure the successful execution of electrical system designs from concept to completion, contributing to meaningful work that improves quality of life.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Familiar with CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, REVIT, Plant 3D).
  • Familiar with SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower.
  • Familiar with AGi32 or Visual.
  • Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Application of codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA 820, NFPA 70E, or ISA.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design of electrical systems, including low and medium-voltage power, lighting, SCADA and process controls, voice/data communications, fiber optics, emergency power systems, UPS, security systems, CCTV, and fire alarm systems.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and project teams on electrical system designs for municipal and industrial water/wastewater facilities from concept to completion.
  • Modify and review production drawings for water, wastewater, and industrial applications under the direction of senior engineers.
  • Support senior engineers in preparing electrical studies, including power supply, short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies.
  • Conduct field inspections, measurements, and assist with calculations for public and private clients.
  • Help develop cost estimates for electrical systems during different project phases.
  • Provide assistance during construction administration, including reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and helping with change order reviews.
  • Participate in cross-disciplinary collaboration with teams from multiple office locations.
  • Learn from and support senior engineers in mentoring assistant-level engineers and improving technical skills.
