About The Position

BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy facility development, recapitalization, and construction projects. Accuracy, integrity, subject matter expertise, and the ability to work well independently and with others are important traits we expect the successful candidate to possess and demonstrate. This position is responsible for conceptual development, code compliance reviews, and ensuring SSP specific requirements are incorporated into the electrical portion of conceptual, preliminary and final design documentation. This includes both BAE conceptual designs and designs created by other architectural engineering firm. As a decades long sole source partner on multiple contracts on behalf of our customer, our program has remarkable stability and is concurrently experiencing significant growth. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET Accredited program preferred.
  • At least five years of related/relevant professional work experience OR equivalent education and ten years of related professional facility electrical experience required.
  • Professional work experience with electrical power systems including medium and low voltage systems, lighting design, lightning protection systems, emergency power systems, generators, transformers, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), power converters.
  • Experience with Solidly Grounded and Ungrounded Power Systems.
  • Experience in the development of Load Flow Analysis, Short Circuit Studies, & Load Calculations.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite programs including Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams.
  • Professional knowledge of NPFA NEC.
  • Knowledge of Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS).
  • Experience in the design, development or implementation of MILCON facilities programs.
  • Knowledge of NAVSEA OP5 and Electrical requirements for Ordnance facilities.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, and/or MicroStation Software packages.
  • Knowledge of ETAP® or SKM Software.

  • Professional Engineer License.

Responsibilities

  • Develop conceptual single line diagrams, Bill of Materials, and new electrical system integration into the existing electrical power system.
  • Provide technical peer reviews of architectural/engineering design submittals.
  • Support the development of Facilities Design Criteria & Facilities Evaluation Testing Criteria.
  • Perform constructability reviews of construction design documentation.
  • Conduct/prepare engineering study reports and make recommendations to solve facilities issues.
  • Develop comprehensive MILCON documentation and the electrical portion of preliminary construction cost estimates.
  • Engage in working with subcontracts for input and review of scopes of work and review of site studies.
  • Provide electrical system guidance associated with specific SSP facility requirements for construction documentation.
  • Generate correspondence to internal/external customers and prepare presentations for peers and customers.
  • Manage and/or support other discipline tasks as needed for coordination of deliverables.
  • Work with and support corporate Safety, Health, Environment (SHE) personnel to maintain a safe work environment.
