About The Position
The Melt Shop Electrical Engineer position in Charlotte, NC, is designed for an experienced engineer with extensive hands-on skills working with Medium and Low Voltage equipment. The candidate will report to the Melt Shop Superintendent and collaborate closely with Reliability and Automation operational units in a steel mill environment. Responsibilities include supporting process optimization related to medium/low voltage equipment in the Melt Shop, including EAF and LMF transformers, electrical infrastructure, Statcom, PLCs, furnace regulators, secondary equipment, and general Melt Shop projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience troubleshooting technical issues related to industrial and manufacturing equipment, a strong understanding of safety policies and standards applicable to industrial operations, and the ability to lead and participate in team-oriented work groups. The role also involves identifying opportunities for process and production improvements, developing and implementing standards, and ensuring compliance with environmental laws and safety regulations.
