The Electrical Engineer will design and support custom PCBA for automated packaging platforms, focusing on system design, implementation, and manufacturing release. This role involves integrating various electronic components into the system PCBA, ensuring safety and functionality, and addressing field issues throughout the development and production phases.

  • Work with an interdisciplinary team to execute electrical system designs from concept to production including design, validation, testing and certification.
  • Assist other electrical engineers with design elements, simulation, testing, documentation and troubleshooting on next generation designs.
  • Own the electrical implementation and design of electric system.
  • Develop control schemes and support calibration development.
  • Evaluate new technologies and industry trends for inclusion in future programs.
  • Write, develop and execute on functional specifications, design verification plans and test procedures.
  • Support production release to manufacturing and customer deployments.
  • Establish development processes to meet industry standards for functionally safe control systems (IEC 61508).
  • Travel to development sites to support commissioning and troubleshoot field issues.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering (or similar field)
  • 5+ years experience with schematic entry, layout tools and DFx (preferred Altium toolset)
  • 5+ years experience with microcontroller design (STM32, ESP32, or similar)
  • 5+ years experience with communication interfaces (CAN/LIN/FlexRay/Ethernet/SPI/I2C, etc...)
  • 3+ years experience in medium volume production environments (10,000+ units per year)
  • Ability to support domestic and international travel as required by the program.
  • MS / PhD in Electrical Engineering (or similar field)
  • 5+ years experience with mechatronic product development
  • 3+ years experience with system models to an industry safety standard
  • 3+ years experience with circuit simulations (PSpice, HyperLynx, ElmerFEM, etc...)
  • 1+ years experience with wireless technology (WiFi, Bluetooth, etc...)
  • 1+ years experience with system simulation / modeling.
