The Novelis North America team in Davenport, IA has an opportunity to participate in our on-site summer 2026 internship. The team is seeking an Electrical Engineering intern that can join the team for 12 weeks. The person in this role will have the opportunity to participate in meaningful work and gain hands on industry experience. The person in this role will report to the Engineering Manager and will be gain experience PLC’s programmable drives and networking.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an accredited 4-year University
  • Must obtain the classification Sophomore, Junior, or Senior interested in gaining hands-on industry experience prior to graduation
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills which are essential for interacting with all levels of the organization
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer students majoring in Electrical Engineering or related fields

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing tasks, promoting open communication with peers and providing updates to direct management.
  • Assist in drafting and submitting budget proposals, recommend subsequent budget changes when necessary.
  • Assist maintenance and engineering in diagnosing equipment problems and recommend methods to prevent reoccurrence of these issues to improve reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Comply with all safety standards and regulations.
  • Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria in making minor adaptations and modifications to electrical equipment
