About The Position

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Programmable Logic Designer Intern in Dallas, TX. As a key member of our electrical engineering team, you will research, develop, design, and test complex programmable logic designs for military equipment, utilizing Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) and other digital technologies to create innovative and effective solutions.

Requirements

  • Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Strong foundation in digital logic, computer architecture, and programming principles, demonstrated through strong academic performance in related courses.
  • Proficiency in HDL design languages, such as VHDL or Verilog, SystemVerilog, demonstrated through successful academic projects or internship experiences.
  • Experience with FPGA design tools, such as Xilinx Vivado, Altera / Intel Quartus, Vitis, Microsemi Libero, Lattice etc. demonstrated through academic projects or internship experiences.
  • Demonstrated successful group collaboration and/or project work, ideally in an programmable logic.

Nice To Haves

  • Pursuing Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with high-level synthesis tools, such as Catapult or Stratus, and their application to FPGA design.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, including microprocessors, peripherals, and interfaces, high speed transceivers, etc. gained through academic coursework or internship experiences.
  • Knowledge of digital signal processing principles and their application to FPGA design, demonstrated through academic coursework or internship experiences.
  • Experience with scripting languages, such as Python or Tcl, and their application to FPGA design automation, demonstrated through academic projects or internship experiences.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard FPGA development boards and platforms, such as Xilinx Zynq or Intel Cyclone, gained through academic coursework or internship experiences.
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture, including pipelining, caching, and parallel processing, gained through academic coursework or internship experiences.
