About The Position

Electrical Engineer III will work on a small, dynamic team of electrical engineers to test and develop electronic circuits for innovative medical technologies and processes. As part of the team, the candidate will be primarily responsible for performing root cause analysis of system electrical issues and identifying and implementing appropriate electrical tests for new and production circuits. Candidates should expect to participate in both new product development and sustaining activities. Candidate should have experience and understanding of FDA and global requirements regarding electrical devices and documentation requirements for medical devices or other regulated industries. Candidate should and have experience working with electrical tools such as oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies, and other lab tools and be familiar with the electrical development process including schematic and layout tools through Altium Designer. This role is expected to have some experience in electrical design and analysis and be able to communicate and document engineering principles to non-technical individuals while accepting appropriate mentorship from senior members of the team. It is preferred that the candidate be aware of common digital interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, HDMI, and ethernet along with troubleshooting analog signal paths and motors. Familiarity with medical safety standards such as IEC 60601-1 and EMC standards such as IEC 60601-1-2 are preferred. The individual should be able to work well in a team environment and cross-functionally with other technical disciplines such as software, mechanical, optical and be able to communicate interdependencies, limitations, and expected timelines.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent is required or a master’s degree in electrical engineering is preferred.
  • Must have 3+ years of hands-on experience in electrical engineering in a regulated field (medical strongly preferred).
  • Must have hands-on experience with electrical test equipment and be able to identify hardware issues with utilizing logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, power supplies, or similar equipment.
  • Must have familiarity with electrical test methods.
  • Must be able to work when not all inputs are known upfront.
  • Must have experience in communicating with non-technical individuals or individuals unfamiliar with electrical engineering concepts.
  • Must have knowledge of analog circuit design for signal measurement and digital test/debugging.
  • Must be willing to be mentored and mentor as needed.

Nice To Haves
