Interstates is seeking experienced, licensed Electrical Engineers to lead complex, constructable electrical designs across industrial and manufacturing projects. This role is part of our PE Track and may be filled at the Electrical Engineer III or Senior Electrical Engineer level depending on experience and demonstrated leadership capability.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in NEC-compliant design of medium voltage (MV) power distribution systems (5kV–35kV), including protection coordination, switchgear, substations, and arc flash analysis, is required.
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required (or eligibility for EEIII level).
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and industrial power systems.
  • Experience with electrical design software and drafting tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary design-build environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex electrical design efforts from concept through commissioning.
  • Develop constructable, NEC-compliant designs aligned with company and industry standards.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks early in the design process.
  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines, field teams, clients, vendors, and utilities.
  • Delegate and review design work to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Conduct peer reviews and approve drawings (PE stamping as applicable).
  • Lead and participate in site visits, integrating field feedback into design improvements.
  • Mentor and develop engineers and designers through feedback and technical guidance.
  • Support estimating and project planning through technical input.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design challenges during construction and commissioning.
