Working Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM Requirements Summary Responsible for the design and development of innovative and reliable electrical systems for environmental test chambers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
  • 6 -10 years of experience in the Electrical Engineering field is required.
  • Must be able to perform basic electrical engineering calculations (voltage, current, heater, and transformer calculations).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including (Word, Excel, Email) is required.
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Expert-level knowledge of refrigeration systems and their integration with electrical systems: Understands complex refrigeration cycles and how to optimize them for performance.
  • Product Knowledge: Familiar with a wide range of test chambers and their specific applications.
  • Expert knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations: Exhibits strong knowledge of standards and can ensure compliance with designs.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify, analyze, and solve complex technical problems systematically.
  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams specific to test chambers: These diagrams can be complex, requiring specialized knowledge.
  • Software and Tools: Proficiently uses CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical) for creating schematics and layouts.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for test chambers: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical, control, and refrigeration system issues.
  • Mentorship and guidance of junior engineers: Actively mentors and trains less experienced engineers.
  • Critical Thinking: Ability to evaluate information, identify assumptions, and make sound judgments.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Modifies existing schematic and panel layout designs using engineering best practices.
  • Develops and releases electrical designs, including models, assemblies, and schematics, in AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Possesses in depth knowledge of Bill of Material structures and ERP functionality to effectively fulfill job duties.
  • Utilizes knowledge of test chamber electrical and refrigeration systems to create designs.
  • Designs custom heater assemblies, utilizing heat calculations and 3-phase electrical design principles.
  • Implements NEC and UL508A standards in engineering practices.
  • Proficiently operates PID controllers (SCP-220/P-300/F4T), managing drawings, firmware updates, and HMI interactions.
  • Programs and troubleshoots detailed PLC ladder program/HMI programs.
  • Responds to Production and Service inquiries about design releases, offering basic electrical troubleshooting support.
  • Creates and writes engineering manuals.
  • Designs and releases basic to more complex custom modifications to a standard ENA chamber model.
  • Follows engineering group procedures and ISO standards.
  • Leverages existing designs to process midrange Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) for new model chambers.
  • Reviews and provides input on simple jobs.
  • Proficiently utilizes ENA problem-solving process to identify and correct errors in work outputs.
  • Calculates chamber FLA using the FLA calculation tool.
  • Creates designs that are efficiently and cost-effectively manufactured within the limitations of our own Production facilities and those of our affiliates.
  • Incorporates EJI0530 electrical design standard into designs.
  • Works independently.
  • Regular, physical attendance is required.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
