About the position
The Electrical Engineer II position at Actalent involves researching, designing, developing, modifying, evaluating, and testing various electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment, as well as communications equipment. The role requires working with circuitry components and both analog and digital systems, and it includes conducting experimental tests and developing specifications for equipment selection. The engineer will also interact with management and may oversee staff development and supervision.
Responsibilities
- Conduct experimental tests on electronic equipment and evaluate results.
- Develop specifications for selecting components and equipment.
- Establish operational objectives and assignments.
- Regularly interact with management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.
- Exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Work on extremely complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of intangible variables.
- Act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.
- May manage and be responsible for staff development and supervision.
Requirements
- Experience with design, PCB, and electrical engineering, including mixed signal and electrical design.
- Proficiency in schematic capture and test development.
- Knowledge of software tools such as OrCAD, Altium, PADS, Xilinx, LabVIEW, Verilog, and VHDL.
- Experience with analog and digital systems, FPGA, and maritime, navy, or defense applications.
- Ability to complete difficult and complex assignments with a complete understanding of the job.
- Degree in a related field.
- 4 years of related experience.
