The Raytheon Electronic Warfare - Electrical and Electronics Engineering department in Goleta, California has an immediate opening for a highly motivated Electrical Engineer II – RF/Microwave design to work on Electronic Warfare (EW) and general electronics product development for defense applications. The advanced RF hardware section is the focal point for cutting edge hardware. We have an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer who is seeking to advance their strong academic background and experience in digital and/or RF/Microwave systems. Occasional travel may be required to other Raytheon facilities and customer sites.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)
  • Experience with design, development, and production of electrical equipment and/or hardware.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with some design tools (SPICE, schematic/layout design software, MATLAB, ADS, HFSS, Hyperlynx, GeneSys as examples) and the ability and desire to learn new tools.
  • Experience with schematic capture, block diagrams, and parts lists for complex electronics.
  • Hands-on experience testing electronic products using bench power supplies, signal/waveform generators, high-speed oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers or vector network analyzers.
  • Knowledge of mixed RF, Microwave, and mixed signal electronics.
  • Strong understanding of first principals and a love for Physics

Responsibilities

  • Participate in defining the signals between analog and digital interfaces.
  • Assist the team in design and hands-on testing of RF, microwave, digital, and power components, circuit boards and systems plus providing technical support to production activities.
  • Be a part of a multidisciplinary engineering team throughout the project lifecycle to meet project goals.
  • Receive Mentoring from experienced engineering staff who will guide you in your engineering tasks.
  • Some travel to integration sites, plus customer and subcontractor facilities, may be required.
