About The Position

Timmons Group is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer II - Renewable Energy to join our Renewable Energy Department of our Electrical Design Group located in our Charlotte, NC office location. This group focuses on power generation and renewable energy projects throughout the country including solar farms and battery storage projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from accredited program
• Ideal candidates will have six (6) years or more of professional electrical experience
• Five (5) years or more years of relay coordination and schematic design experience
• Five (5) years or more of detailed design engineering experience and/or owners engineering experience in generating facilities and/or substations is preferred
• Engineer in Training Certification / Professional Engineer registration strongly preferred
• Previous experience leading a group of engineers is a plus
• ETAP or SKM software experience
• Proficiency with AutoCAD
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and accountable for assigned responsibilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers or other staff on design of power generation projects and design of renewable energy projects
• Support Project Managers or other staff on power plant and switchyard electrical system upgrades
• Works under the supervision of Project Managers or other staff for assigned projects to produce electrical engineering designs
• Provides input to senior engineering staff on design issues based on the results of calculations or engineering solutions
• Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to apply professional knowledge to the solution of both routine and non-routine tasks and engineering activities
• Participates in the creation of engineering services proposals, including the calculation/estimation of time schedules and costs of the proposed work
• Participates in budget development
