Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Strong power systems engineering background
  • 2+ years of experience in Power System modelling, simulations and studies in the utility or consulting field
  • Proficiency in power flow software such as ETAP, SKM and ASPEN
  • Ability to organize, schedule, prioritize, and multi-task in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and make recommendations
  • Ability to collaborate within a team environment
  • Self-motivated
  • Sitting for prolonged hours, standing, walking, and lift up to 15lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Engineering with renewable energy focus a plus
  • Experience with PSSE, PSLF, PSCAD, EMTP a plus
  • Experience with insulation coordination, transient overvoltage, transient stability studies a plus
  • Professional Engineer license a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform wind and solar electrical power studies at development, construction, and operation stages, including including ampacity, short circuit, reactive power, grounding, arc flash, system impact studies, etc.
  • Model projects using ETAP, ASPEN, CYMCAP, SKM, WinIGS, PSS/E
  • Prepare accurate, clearly-written, well-organized technical reports
  • Specify equipment ratings and project design parameters based on studies
  • Interface with internal and external team members, such as interconnection Engineers, substation engineers, solar, wind and energy storage engineers, study engineers, project coordinators, and project managers
  • Take ownership of deliverables to meet and exceed client expectations
  • Manage multiple studies and multiple projects at a time
  • Perform QA/QC of study packages
