The Strategic Defense Solutions engineering organization in Richardson, TX is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer specializing in PCB and system-level design for advanced airborne communication and processing systems. This role offers the opportunity to work on critical defense technologies that directly impact national security. Join our team to push the boundaries of electronic systems design and contribute to the safety of our service members. This is for an onsite Special Access Program (SAP)

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Test and integration experience, preferably on power systems.
  • Experience with PCB design software (e.g., Siemens/Mentor Graphics Xpedition, Altium, Cadence Allegro).
  • Knowledge of digital electronics, including processors, FPGAs, high-speed transceivers, and power supplies.
  • Familiarity with signal integrity, timing analyses, and power sequencing.
  • Experience designing, testing, or troubleshooting high power systems.
  • Knowledge of power management, display control, and analog circuit design.
  • Experience with derating, signal integrity and timing analyses for creation of robust circuit card designs.

Responsibilities

  • Test and integration of power systems and associated circuit boards for defense applications.
  • Conduct system-level functional testing, including writing test procedures, reviewing requirements to ensure that design meets requirements, and interacting with cross-functional teams
  • Update schematics, documentation, test plans, and production procedures
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and conduct root cause analysis
  • Participate in design reviews and adhere to established design processes
