About The Position

Textron Systems is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team. This individual will work as part of a multidisciplined design engineering team during the development phases of an emerging program. The individual will be responsible for developing new analog designs and the transition of those designs into military qualified hardware. The individual should be familiar with Mixed Signal electronics design, switching power supply design, ordnance initiation, and high-density PWAs. The individual should be familiar with using OrCAD Capture, LTSpice, and Allegro. Our Design Engineering team is focused on developing and improving new product designs to support advanced emerging programs for military customers.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years' experience, M.S. in Electrical Engineering with 1+ years of experience (Level II)
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years' experience, M.S. in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of experience (Level III)
  • Relevant experience in Mixed Signal electronics design.
  • Expertise in both Analog and Power Supply design techniques.
  • Experience with designing high-density printed circuit boards (PCBs) and proficiency in CAD tools for PCB layout and design.
  • Knowledgeable with Allegro CIS Schematic Capture, PSPICE, and developing simulations with LTSPICE.
  • Familiarity with Worst Case Circuit Analysis, parts derating guidelines, and basic modification of component models.
  • Proficient with various lab instrumentation, testing, debugging, and supporting PCB/PWA layout.
  • Understanding of electromagnetic interference (EMI), electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) design practices, and thermal management techniques.
  • Familiar with modern signal processing techniques, digital design, standard data buses, and safety-critical design (MIL-STD-1316 and MIL-STD-1911).
  • Proficiency in mixed signal design involving microcontrollers and microprocessors.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Active security clearance preferred or eligibility for clearance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing mixed signal electronic designs.
  • Analyzing circuit designs.
  • Working in a collaborative and cross-functional discipline environment.
  • Participating in design reviews, providing feedback on the integration and test processes.
  • Supporting the development of technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
  • Conducting failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) as part of the design process.
  • Assisting in system-level integration and validation tests.
  • Providing technical support during prototype and production stages.
  • Ensuring compliance with military standards and specifications.
