About The Position

The Electrical Engineer II supports the execution of standard engineering tasks, including material specification, schematic development, and documentation. This role assists with the design, testing, and modification of electrical systems under the direction of senior engineers. Responsibilities include preparing technical documentation, clarifying specifications, and ensuring alignment with performance requirements. The position requires collaboration with internal teams and clear communication of technical details. The Electrical Engineer II is expected to work with increasing independence and seek support when addressing complex or unfamiliar tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field
  • 2-5 years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in material handling or automation projects
  • Proficiency in developing electrical schematics and layouts using AutoCAD or similar tools
  • Expertise in conveyor motor control panel design and familiarity with applicable electrical standards (e.g., NFPA, NEC, IEC)
  • Experience working with PLCs and industrial network protocols (e.g., Ethernet, Profinet, Profibus)
  • Demonstrated experience supporting cross-disciplinary project teams and end users
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet project deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, documentation, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support electrical systems and products for material handling applications
  • Develop electrical schematics, panel layouts, cable routing diagrams, and perform basic calculations for power requirements, circuit protection, and load distribution
  • Specify and select electrical components such as sensors, motors, drives, and safety devices, ensuring compliance with applicable electrical and safety standards (e.g., NFPA, NEC, IEC)
  • Collaborate with mechanical and controls engineers to integrate electrical designs into complete automation systems
  • Participate in system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting during build and installation phases
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including BOMs, wiring diagrams, system specifications, and organized records of revisions and change documentation throughout the project lifecycle
  • Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to manage component sourcing, lead times, and resolve technical inquiries
  • Travel up to 10% for site condition assessments and progress evaluations
