Job summary Electrical Engineer I is responsible for troubleshooting device complaints from clinical trials and addressing issues arising during internal manufacturing. This role includes documenting root cause analyses and implementing preventive actions. Additionally, the engineer reviews board-level failures identified during incoming inspections and collaborates with design and manufacturing teams to improve both product design and production processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 0-1 year of experience in the field of electronics or electrical engineering; or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attained.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Experience collaborating with circuit board manufacturers on PCB development
  • Solid understanding of measurement and test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, etc.)
  • Ability to read electrical circuit diagrams.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across functions
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent documentation, recordkeeping and data collection skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • A current US work authorization is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an ISO 13485 regulated quality systems (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, investigate, and design electrical systems, products, components, and applications by applying knowledge of electronics, software manufacturing processes, and materials.
  • Troubleshoot circuit boards and collaborate with Quality on NCMRs and CAPAs.
  • Develop incoming inspection documents and fixtures to support Engineering.
  • Perform measurements using laboratory tools such as oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies, and multimeters.
  • Develop manufacturing test equipment, including board-level testers.
  • Lead projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Release schematics designed in OrCad CIS, including new component releases.
  • Prepare Bill of Materials in accordance with INOVIO’s SOPs.
  • Represent Engineering in CCB meetings.
  • Support project managers in identifying risks and reviewing risk analyses (e.g., DFMEA).
  • Perform additional engineering duties as assigned.
