Requirements

  • Management Requirements: 0-3 staff
  • Education Requirements: BSEE from an Abet Accredited Engineering Program
  • Licensure Requirements: Licensed Professional Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Lead small client teams (1–2 staff), small projects, or portions of large projects using expertise in lighting and power design.
  • Apply knowledge of NEC and other national standards to solve medium to difficult design challenges.
  • Work independently on multiple project types with minimal supervision.
  • Understand energy codes and apply them to power and lighting design.
  • Perform photometric calculations, lighting design, and fault current analysis.
  • Select lighting systems and controls for simple projects.
  • Proficient in REVIT.
  • Train employees on company standards, drafting techniques, and technical questions related to electrical design.
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers to develop construction documents based on client requirements.
  • Perform quality control on projects for final review by Engineer of Record.
  • Engage in client communication when applicable.
  • Assist in establishing project budgets and ensure financial success.
  • Edit specifications for small to medium projects.
