The Electrical Engineer I supports the engineering, design, and construction of electrical systems within a large-scale EPC manufacturing environment. The role contributes to electrical drawing development, equipment specification, construction support, and operational troubleshooting while learning industry codes, standards, and engineering procedures. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, the position provides technical assistance throughout the full project life cycle- design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations, while gaining experience in industrial power distribution, automation, and manufacturing electrical systems. In addition, it provides technical expertise in electrical systems, documentation, and cross-team collaboration to enhance safety, efficiency, and long-term performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a closely related field
  • Strong foundational understanding of core electrical engineering principles
  • Demonstrated eagerness to learn and develop practical electrical engineering skills
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, including ability to present technical information clearly to non-technical audiences
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, prioritize effectively, and deliver quality results in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter with strong follow-up skills, able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Effective problem solver with sound decision-making skills and ability to resolve issues creatively and efficiently
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic and commitment to providing excellent customer service, both internally and externally

Nice To Haves

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification (or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe)
  • SolidWorks or AutoCAD Certification
  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification
  • 2+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience, preferably supporting or constructing large-scale facilities, ideally in advanced manufacturing environments
  • Experience supporting or managing multi-discipline projects
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, SKM Power tools, ETAP, or equivalent software
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70/70E electrical safety principles; completion of basic arc-flash or electrical-safety training
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly assess and resolve critical system issues to minimize downtime and operational impact
  • Familiarity with PC hardware and Windows-based applications beyond standard office software (e.g., engineering software, data acquisition tools)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and revise electrical drawings, including one-line diagrams, panel schedules, floor plans, grounding layouts, cable routing, and schematics - using AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent electrical design software
  • Perform basic electrical calculations such as load estimations, voltage drop, conductor sizing, and short-circuit checks under engineering supervision
  • Support engineering deliverables related to low-voltage and medium voltage distribution systems, lighting layouts, grounding systems, and auxiliary power systems
  • Review design specifications, maintain electrical documentation, and monitor system usage
  • Review vendor drawings, installation manuals and technical documentation to verify conformance with design intent and plant requirements
  • Support project schedules by coordinating design updates, reviewing vendor submittals, and assisting in RFIs and field clarifications
  • Participate in routine maintenance testing, including checking breakers, transformers, grounding systems, and motor starters
  • Help maintain accurate electrical drawings and as-built documentation for facility assets and production equipment
  • Assist in analyzing equipment failure data, recommending preventive maintenance actions, and supporting root-cause investigations
  • Assist with breaker coordination, arc flash studies, load analysis, and resolution of power quality issues by providing data and preliminary analysis support
  • Assist with electrical load monitoring, data gathering, power-quality checks, and basic analysis using engineering software and testing instruments
  • Contribute to documentation of engineering changes, lessons learned, and quality-control records throughout the EPC project lifecycle
  • Participate in feasibility studies and preliminary engineering efforts by supporting senior engineers
  • Support design reviews, redline updates, and constructability assessments to help ensure drawings and specifications accurately reflect field conditions and project requirements
  • Develop relationships and communicate with engineers across disciplines and at other Panasonic sites to foster best practice sharing and communication
  • Participate in cross-functional coordination with mechanical, controls, safety, and construction teams to ensure electrical system compatibility across disciplines
  • Support project schedules by coordinating design updates, reviewing vendor submittals, and assisting in RFIs and field clarifications
  • Assist in preparing engineering design packages, equipment specifications, and construction-ready documents in alignment with NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE and facility engineering standards
  • Support the development of maintenance procedures, LOTO documentation, and equipment tracking systems
  • Assist with commissioning tests such as continuity testing, insulation resistance measurements, equipment nameplate verification, and system energization preparation
  • Assist in preparing project plans including budgets, schedules, drawings, and bills of material
