As the Electrical Engineer I, you will be a part of Electrical Engineering team which is Aerzen’s primary engineering resource for Aerzen blowers, turbo blowers, compressors, and automated machine control systems delivered to North, Central and South Americas. This position is responsible for applying acquired technical knowledge and engineering skills to the execution of electrical engineering/design over entire Aerzen product lines. Primary objectives include assisting the Engineering team in the support of the production, quality, and service teams in areas penitent to Aerzen’s shipment, quality control, and customer service goals. While performing this role, individuals will understand and address all aspects of project related technical specifications, internal equipment datasheets, stakeholder concerns as well as equipment, application and project risks to provide the best possible “Customer Value + Aerzen Solution” that is safe, efficient, reliable, and profitable for the client as well as for Aerzen. Interactions Interact professionally with and serve as a resource and point of contact for sales, project management, purchasing, production and customer support by providing technical knowledge, expertise and documentation regarding Aerzen blower and compressor equipment and control systems. Quality Adopt a quality mindset in fulfilling customer expectations at appropriate levels of cost. Perform calculations, generate drawings, produce bills of materials, and design equipment and systems. Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations for engineering design. Create and maintain engineering tools to aid in design and work within Aerzen’s ERP software and document control systems. Autonomy & Complexity Acquire knowledge and develop skills both autonomously and under the strategic direction of direct management to support the business. Perform assigned task and project work under the direction of a supervisor, performing work that is appropriate and conducive to serving the business while fostering the development of an engineering skillset. Project design activities shall be coordinated with peers and managers to ensure accuracy and that best practices are being employed. Engineering Design Understand and address product and project related specifications. Perform calculations, generate drawings, produce bills of materials, and design equipment and systems. Ensure compliance of safety standards and regulations for engineering designs. Create and maintain engineering tools to aid in design and work within Aerzen’s ERP software and document control systems. Perform sizing, layout design, and value engineering on electrical circuit/system for Aerzen blowers and compressors according to NEC, NFPA 79, and UL 508A to meet Aerzen quality and safety standards Conduct integration of VFD (Allen-Bradley, Danfoss, WEG, Toshiba, Yaskawa, etc) and Aerzen microcontroller-based machine controller to Aerzen blower and compressor packages for safe and reliable operation and create processes in a professional, organized structure with thorough documentation and rigid version control Develop and design ICPs (industrial control panel) involving VFD, PLC, HMI, and/or various instrument components to meet integrated system requirements and support other groups to deliver product that exceeds customer’s expectations in a timely manner Author and issue ICP business associated technical documents: specifications, drawings, critical component list, testing procedures, quality inspection sheets, work instructions, O&M instructions, etc The job criteria may include other duties, responsibilities and activities, which may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET/EAC Accredited Program Field of study: Mechanical, Electrical, Software Engineering, or equivalent engineering degree.
  • Experience: Minimum 0-3 Years of Relevant Professional Required. Ability to demonstrate familiarity with relevant engineering fundamentals though coursework or prior work experience preferred.
  • Other): Must have the ability to travel for business up to 25% of the time as needed.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and VFD & PLC commissioning software as well as MS Office programs required.
  • Language Skills: Advanced verbal and written communication skills; able to present to groups and educate/train others.

  • 2D drawings including wiring diagram and schematics
  • 2D and 3D CAD for layout and GA drawings
  • Electrical and control system hardware design for machinery applications
  • Electric codes and hazardous design restrictions
  • Control circuit design and implementation
  • UL 508A industrial control panel
  • AC motor drive with VFD and soft starter
  • Power quality analysis and harmonic mitigation
  • PLC and HMI/OIT configuration and programming (Allen-Bradley)
  • Industrial communication protocols (Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP)

  • Proficiency in Eplan,and 3D CAD is a big plus.
