About The Position

Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc, a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented Electrical Engineer I-IV based at our Greenville, NC Warehouse Product Development Center . What you will do: Product Design & Development Design, evaluate, and refine electrical components, assemblies, and systems. Support prototype development by ordering parts and coordinating prototype builds. Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to integrate electrical systems into overall vehicle or machine designs. Product Documentation & Release Create and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, list structures, and release documentation. Generate Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), project orders, reports, and test plans. Testing & Validation Support test planning and execution for components and systems. Analyze test results and recommend improvements based on performance data. Manufacturing & Purchasing Coordination Collaborate with manufacturing and purchasing teams to ensure designs are feasible, cost‑effective, and ready for production. Provide troubleshooting and support during pilot builds and production launches. Level II Additions: Contribute to concept development and provide input for project proposals. Participate in competitive product reviews and market/field research activities. Support system‑level design and evaluation. Provide basic technical direction or guidance to other team members or interns. Level II I Additions: Plan, coordinate, and lead prototype test activities. Manage and release product‑related data for sales and internal communication. Assist in developing component‑level strategies to support long-term product planning. Level I V Additions: Lead early‑phase research and concept development for future products. Provide project leadership, including task coordination and cross‑functional alignment. Support team oversight and administrative responsibilities as . Guide technical direction and ensure alignment between product strategy and electrical system design.

  • Level I: B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field New graduate or up to 1 year of relevant experience
  • Level II: B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field 1-2 years of engineering experience and/or two relevant internships
  • Level III: B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field 3+ years of industry experience
  • Level IV: B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field 5 + years of industry experience
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals, including circuits, power electronics, motor controls, and battery systems.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, real‑time communication networks (e.g., CAN), and control architectures.
  • Ability to create and interpret CAD drawings, schematics, and design layouts.
  • Basic experience with engineering analysis, test methods, and technical documentation.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities, communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams.
