The Andersen Windows 100 Series team is seeking an Electrical Engineer with a strong background in electrical engineering, controls, and a passion for strategic thinking. As part of our dynamic team, you will help drive equipment continuous improvement initiatives, implement innovative solutions, and help shape our electrical engineering team's strategic direction. You will be a key contributor in implementing new and exciting technologies throughout our 100 Series facility in Bayport, Minnesota. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or technology or a similar field.
  • Open to a range of experience levels.
  • Knowledge of PLC's (Allen Bradley, ControlLogix, RSLogix preferred), HMI's, drives, and control systems.
  • Knowledge of servo motion control (Kinetix preferred); design, troubleshooting, and program requirements.
  • Knowledge of networks, data servers, virtual machines, and general Windows OS support and patching preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, highly motivated, organized, and self-disciplined.
  • Comfortable with hands-on troubleshooting.
  • Comfortable with a manufacturing facility setting and equipment.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong mechanical background.
  • Experience with AutoCAD preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects, organization, and communication of controls and electrical initiatives, including electrical improvements, obsolescence, innovation, & troubleshooting.
  • Deliver safe, effective, sustainable, and reliable solutions (Equipment specification, preventative maintenance, acceptance plans, design review, safety assessments, code compliance).
  • Own PLC programming and operator screen development and modification.
  • Participative team approach to problem solving and root cause analysis with associates, supervisors, maintenance, operations, engineering, and IT.
  • Support maintenance and operations team with advanced controls troubleshooting.
  • Assess current and future controls and operational technologies.
  • Read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical drawings for equipment.
