About The Position

Peraton is actively recruiting for a High Voltage Electrician in Guam to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and installation and operation of electrical systems at the Guam Remote Station (GRS) located on Camp Blaz. RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs specified electrical work; installs, repairs, or maintains transformers, generators, circuit breakers, conduits and panels; tests electrical circuits; replaces units or parts including wiring, fuses, transformers, coils and switches. Rack in/out breakers and switchgear up to 480V as necessary. Knowledge of maintaining Uninterrupted Powers Supply (UPS) batteries and battery monitoring systems. Plans layout installations, repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment; plans new or modified installations consistent with specifications and local electrical codes. Coordinates the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical service. Performs specialized activities including coordinating electrical renovations and performing electrical work. Reads, interprets and works from blueprints, schematic drawings, and specifications ensuring concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring. Prepare sketches showing wiring equipment location. Tests continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components; observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation and/or replacement. Prepares estimates of time, labor and materials and prepares reports reflecting daily operations and project status. Track calibration due dates and preventive maintenance for assigned equipment in MAXIMO. Perform administrative functions, such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, and preparing job status reports. Budgetary responsibilities as an alternate Purchase Card Holder. Provide safety training to fellow staff and manage lockout tagout procedures. Primarily day shift work subject to being on call 24x7 with mandatory overtime as deemed necessary by management. Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • BS degree and 5 years experience, AS degree and 9 years experience or High School diploma (or GED equivalent) and 10+ years of experience in the major crafts (such as electrical power, switch gear distribution panels, and air conditioning (HVAC).
  • Capable of lifting 50lbs, climbing antennas and ladders and willing to work in high noise and dusty areas, confined spaces with outdoor work in extreme heat and humid conditions.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift and to work from lifts, ladders and scaffolding.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid United States driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass physical examinations consistent with the Job Classification.
  • Security clearance – Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance. Must be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
