The Optics team builds highly integrated component platforms with high speed Silicon photonics, transmit and receive amplifiers, controller ASIC's with Marvell DSP's. These components are made operational with a highly functional embedded firmware. The team is responsible for design, verification, and validation of these integrated high speed optical components. The team performs system level testing under various operating conditions, and validates the performance of the hardware, firmware and control loops. An engineer in this team will be involved in a full product lifecycle and will carry new products from inception all the way to NPI.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar.
  • Focus on schematic design, board or package routing, signal and power integrity analysis, and programmable device design.
  • Completed a project that included schematic capture and design of a circuit.
  • Experience in a lab setting, debugging problems missed in design review.
  • Ability to determine if issues are with the circuit, chip, or board.
  • Good communication skills to provide updates and ask questions.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a portion of a design that you'll implement.
  • Begin with schematic capture and run simulations looking at signal and power integrity.
  • Collaborate with team members to integrate your portion with theirs.
  • Work with architecture and validation teams to understand flow and testing needs.
  • Identify available parts and program any programmable devices used for your design.
  • Attend project or technical meetings weekly to discuss project details.
