MasTec is expanding its EV infrastructure and design-build capabilities and is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support large-scale EV charging programs. This role provides technical leadership, design oversight, and mentoring across EV projects while partnering closely with internal A&E leadership and field teams. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys guiding teams, reviewing designs, and supporting fast-moving programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required (active in at least one U.S. state).
  • 6–10+ years of electrical design engineering experience.
  • Strong background in electrical power distribution and infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of and experience with NEC, NESC, and Building Codes.
  • Experience with and ability to present design in CAD based software.
  • Experience supporting design-build or construction-driven projects.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience evaluating existing electrical infrastructure and proposed electrical loading at buildings and remote locations.
  • Short circuit calculation experience a plus.
  • Arc flash calculation experience a plus.
  • Experience with electrical software such as ETAP, SKM, or others a positive

Nice To Haves

  • NCEES Registration is a plus.
  • EV charging infrastructure experience (Level 2 and/or DC Fast Charging)
  • Experience supporting multi-site or national programs
  • Prior experience mentoring or leading junior engineers
  • Experience working with utilities and permitting authorities

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical authority for EV charging and electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Provide design oversight and quality review for EV charging station designs.
  • Support permitting strategy and design-build execution.
  • Collaborate with construction teams to ensure designs are constructible and aligned with field conditions.
  • Support standardization of EV electrical designs and best practices.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders across engineering, construction, and operations.
  • Review field feedback and incorporate updates into final design direction.
