About The Position

We're looking for an Electrical Engineer - Early Career, in New Iberia, LA or Pearland, TX, to help design and install temporary industrial and commercial electrical power and control systems. This position involves participating in a 1-year training program that rotates through various aspects of the business, including engineering, project management, sales, and technical support. The role requires designing safe, reliable, economical, and efficient electrical power generation and distribution systems, providing technical support, and managing the design and procurement of new equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited or approved equal).
  • No professional experience necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Availability to travel to support business needs and for training.
  • Possession of valid local Driving License as per the need of the business.
  • Ability to work in various weather, temperatures, and terrain.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high level of accuracy.
  • Takes responsibility of HSE requirements for self and others.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in 1-year of training rotating through many aspects of the business from engineering to project management to sales to technical support.
  • Use mandatory codes, industry consensus standards, and relevant experience to design safe, reliable, economical, and efficient electrical power generation and distribution systems.
  • Help the sales team secure contracts by visiting client project sites, giving technical sales presentations, analyzing clients' needs, and crafting creative cost-effective solutions.
  • Manage the design and procurement of new power generation and distribution equipment, including creating conceptual layouts, schematics, and bills of material.
  • Provide technical support to technicians and customers by phone and in person at Aggreko's service centers and job sites.
  • Help to install and commission systems, including pulling and terminating power cables, performing insulation resistance and turns ratio testing of transformers, and troubleshooting switchgear.
  • Perform light drafting duties using AutoCAD to create and modify single-line diagrams, location plans, grounding plans, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Analyze test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
  • Inspect equipment and systems for electrical code and safety deficiencies.
  • Use computer engineering and design software (ETAP) to perform engineering studies.
  • Travel 25% - 35% of the time to various locations including US states, Canada, Mexico, and Caribbean islands.
