As an Electrical Engineering Co‑op, you will support product quality, engineering, and reliability efforts to ensure our groundbreaking medical technologies remain safe, effective, and compliant with applicable regulations, standards, and industry best practices. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to review and assess product development activities—including user needs, design plans, requirements, design documentation, risk management files, and verification/validation evidence—to ensure alignment with internal procedures and external regulatory expectations. Our growing team develops technology that enhances performance, accuracy, and safety across a wide range of surgical procedures.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Ability to apply appropriate quality tools, systems, and processes to meet engineering and departmental objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams.
  • Experience with circuit design (academic or project‑based).
  • Knowledge of wireless technologies and related standards.
  • Interest and/or experience in robotics.
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills.
  • Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future.
  • Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, development, and testing of electrical hardware for surgical robotic systems.
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to clarify requirements and maintain up‑to‑date design and architecture documentation.
  • Assist in documenting new hardware designs and updates.
  • Lead individual research projects to improve product performance and user experience; present findings and collaborate on integrating hardware enhancements into our existing robotics portfolio.
  • Contribute to design recommendations that influence engineering decisions and help improve surgical outcomes.
  • Provide input and support for verification and validation activities involving digital health technologies.
  • Review project and program deliverables such as requirements, specifications, test protocols, test results, traceability documents, risk management files, and summary reports.
  • Work effectively in a team environment while demonstrating strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
