This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will lead the Electrical Power System development team. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of electrical design for the launch vehicle. Requirements

  • 3+ years of engineering management
  • 10+ years of recent power electronics or power systems development for hardware used in harsh or space environments
  • B.S. degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or an appropriate engineering field
  • Strong understanding and experience with the product development life cycle
  • Desire to work hands-on, as part of a team, in both development and production phases of a product lifecycle

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with batteries, power electronics, or power systems
  • Experience with fault tolerant and high reliability systems

Responsibilities

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers (Electrical, Mechanical, Test, Systems, Software, Firmware) to develop an electrical power system.
  • Provide guidance and support for the team, in a hands on role, as they work on many power electronics projects (batteries, power converters, motor controllers, power management and distribution).
  • Ensure project completion is on schedule and within budget while meeting all system requirements.
