The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs. Responsibilities Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to: Perform engineering tasks in support of the Flight and Ground Systems such as Avionics, Electrical Power, Pyrotechnics, Comm and Tracking, Ground Instrumentation, Kennedy Ground Control Systems engineering group. Candidate will support preparations for assembly, test, processing, and launch of NASA's Space Launch System and Orion spacecraft as well as Ground Support Systems. Initial assignments will focus on understanding the ground application software used during ground processing and vehicle launch. Developing Work Authorization Documents to process, test and launch the SLS Rocket and Orion Spacecraft and Kennedy Ground Control Systems. Candidates will be required to develop and apply knowledge of technical principles, vehicle processing operations concepts, ground to vehicle interfaces, and vehicle/ground system design and operation. Additional responsibilities in system training, vehicle processing, and launch certification will follow. Perform other duties as assigned
