About The Position

Michael Baker International is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Electrical Associate to join our team in Idaho Falls, ID. This entry-level position is ideal for a recent graduate in electrical engineering who is ready to contribute to a variety of project types and grow within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment. The successful candidate will support the design and documentation of electrical systems for projects in sectors such as Federal, Department of Defense, and International, as well as emerging markets including Healthcare, Transit, and Adaptive Re-Use. Working alongside architects, interior designers, civil engineers, and building systems engineers, the Electrical Associate will gain valuable experience in a team setting while developing technical and professional skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering with a focus on power and lighting.
  • 0+ years of experience.
  • Familiarity with the National Electric Code.
  • Ability to obtain Engineer in Training (EIT) certification within 6 months.
  • Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication skills and understanding of interdisciplinary collaboration.

Nice To Haves

  • EIT certification.
  • Experience with engineering software such as SKM, Spot, Visual Lighting, AGi32, or equivalent tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design of electrical systems including lighting, circuiting, panelboards, breakers, conduit, wiring, disconnects, and transformers.
  • Support the development of construction documents and ensure constructability.
  • Collaborate with licensed engineers and contribute to project execution.
  • Apply problem-solving skills and demonstrate initiative in learning new concepts.
