We are actively seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing electrical engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse, complex building projects while leading junior team members and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary project team.

Requirements

  • 7 years of electrical engineering experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • PE license (preferred) or EIT with a path toward licensure (NY and NJ preferred)
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit experience a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ANSI standards, and applicable building codes
  • Proven ability to read and interpret construction documents
  • Demonstrated experience in client-facing roles
  • Previous leadership or mentorship of junior engineers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; load calculation software experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license; willingness to travel locally (Tri-State area) up to 20%

Nice To Haves

  • 10 years of experience in building electrical system design
  • Experience with electrical power analysis software (e.g., SKM, ETAP)
  • Revit proficiency for MEP systems coordination
  • Prior experience at a full-service architecture and engineering firm

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop junior electrical engineering staff
  • Plan, design, and coordinate electrical systems for various building projects in compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and other codes
  • Perform and review electrical calculations, including load calculations, voltage drop, short-circuit analysis, and equipment sizing
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and permit applications
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of electrical design work and ensure accuracy of construction documents
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and clients throughout the project lifecycle
  • Participate in project meetings, including design reviews and construction coordination
  • Support construction administration including RFI responses, submittal reviews, and site visits
  • Contribute to proposal development and business development initiatives
  • Ensure project budgets, timelines, and scope are maintained
