The Electrical Engineer designs, develops, modifies and evaluates components and processes used in the generation, manipulation, transmission and storage of electricity. Determines design approaches and parameters. Analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results. Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability. Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. May interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise. A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This job is a fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position. Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.

Requirements

  • Preferred Minimum Non-Technical Degree: College Degree.
  • Preferred Minimum Technical/Advanced Degree: Technical Bachelor's Degree.
  • Preferred Minimum Non-Technical Degree: 2-5 Years.
  • Preferred Minimum Technical/Advanced Degree: 1-2 Years with Technical Bachelor's Degree, 0-2 Years with Master's Degree.
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout programs is beneficial.
  • Experience in an FDA regulated medical device industry is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Performs experiments of moderate scope and collects data.
  • Participate in the design process, as well as the transfer of design changes from design engineering to manufacturing.
  • Participate in the integration of electronics and automation into products including mechanics, electro-optical, software and user interface.
  • Define and develop assembly and test methods for assigned product line.
  • Specify and provide all necessary tools, equipment, fixtures, and facilities required for assigned product line.
  • Design new manufacturing and assembly fixtures.
  • Assure that work instructions, bills of material and drawings are created and updated when necessary.
  • Provide training to operators when appropriate.
  • Assists in maintaining existing mechanical and electrical test fixtures.
  • Develops, verifies, and validates processes for manufacturing.
  • Monitor quality reports and field performance of assigned product line, identify trends, investigate problems, perform root cause analysis, and recommend and implement corrective actions.
  • Evaluate and develop process control data for trending analysis.
  • Develop DOE criteria for experiments to define root cause failures in manufacturing.

Benefits

  • The annualized base salary range for this role is $76,000 to $105,000 and is bonus eligible.
