About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Drafting Designer to join our team immediately, specializing in CO2 Liquefaction and LNG Plants Instrumentation and Electrical design. This role involves collaborating with engineers to develop technical electrical schematics, panel layouts, one-line diagrams, and other related electrical drawings for gas processing and refrigeration systems.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical is required.
  • Strong attention to detail in creating electrical symbols (e.g., chassis layouts, terminal blocks, panel layouts).
  • Familiarity with MS Office Excel and MS Office Access.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical design principles is highly recommended.
  • An associate degree in Drafting & Design is preferred, or a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand ISA P&ID and electrical symbols is required.
  • Excellent communication skills and a self-starter mentality.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally overseas (approximately 10-20% of the time).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience in electrical project design and 3D design software is a plus.
  • Familiarity with MicroStation schemas and Microsoft Visio is a bonus.
  • Database management experience is also desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Use AutoCAD Electrical to create precise technical plans for electrical systems, translating engineers' specifications into schematics and blueprints.
  • Compile, analyze, and integrate engineers’ rough sketches and initial designs into comprehensive technical drafts for project managers' review.
  • Develop detailed wiring diagrams, incorporating engineering specifications and design information.
  • Ensure final drafts are clear, accurate, and include all necessary information, verifying measurements, calculations, and units against initial designs.
  • Revise technical drafts as directed by engineers or project managers.
  • Create design drawings such as one-line diagrams, control panel layouts, 2D fieldwork drawings, hazardous area layouts, lighting, and cable tray/conduit layouts.
  • Participate in the design process by collaborating with engineers and designers, contributing ideas, and developing rough sketches for electrical systems.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical documents, data templates, and CADD symbols to support electrical design and data entry.
  • Attending project coordination meetings with internal teams and external clients.
  • Support electrical engineering tasks across multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Prepare data lists/sheets for the procurement of mechanical components.
