About The Position

The Electrical Diagnostician role is a key position to support the plant in achieving electrical first-time quality (E-FTQ) glide path. The primary responsibility is supporting electrical end of line (EOL) repair process. This role will collect data and information to help resolve the ongoing issues impacting EFTQ.

Responsibilities

  • Perform software Red X for top hitting EFTQ issues
  • Complete required training at various sites around GM and suppliers, travel required
  • Work with the Electrical Engineering team to resolve EOL issues
  • Document lessons learned for process and product improvements.
  • Create actionable items from electrical failures to enable issue documentation and follow up.
  • Utilizes the plant quality reporting systems (i.e., GSIP/MERS/PRTS/SPPS) to identify and eliminate process / product variation.
  • Utilizes the applicable plant testing systems (i.e., NGFTT, AVT, DVT) to improve and correlate plant electrical performance
  • Reports pass rate performance for all applicable in plant testing systems (i.e., NGFTT, AVT, DVT) and leads corrective action plans.
  • Support GCA
  • Report incorrect schematics to service for correction
  • Create training material and training bucks to train how the communication in the vehicle works
  • Conduct training of vehicle electrical systems for Team Leaders so they can support their Team Members using the Electrical Training Boards, PADs, JES, TIS, etc.
  • Support disconnect workshop during launch to develop database for repair faults (knowledge-based repair systems) in GSIP between PVBns and PVBs
  • Coordinate training for repairmen on service diagnostic tools (i.e., GDS2/MDI, via Raytheon or applicable company).
  • Key contact for Final Process Repairman helping with training, troubleshooting vehicle issues, repair root cause entry into GSIP, Service Information schematic and other issues, Plant repair diagnostic tool (GDS2/MDI) and reporting systems.
  • Lead Electrical troubleshooting efforts for the plant: DVT/Repair Support Diagnostic Trouble Shooting/No Trouble Found process Software IRT issue closure tracking & support Thorough working knowledge of GMS as well supporting BIQ4 Deliverables.
  • Create Electrical Repair Standardized Work (Final Repair & Yard Campaigns)
  • Electrical Repair Training (Team Leaders & VAAs)
  • Support Proper GSIP documentation to drive issue resolution (Upload Defect Pictures in GSIP, correct notes)
  • Track all diagnostics issues to closure
  • Will report to the Electrical Manager
  • Report out EFTQ performance on a weekly basis
  • Daily tracking report to show the status of each vehicle at each test station (Standard format)
  • Root cause analysis reports for top electrical issues for team
  • Track all diagnostics issues to closure
