About The Position

As a member of our Technical Services Group, the Electrical Designers develop electrical circuit and system layouts for electric power distribution. They design prototypes, troubleshoot potential issues, make changes to fix any issues, and create specifications and other details for these systems. This position will require travel to customer sites as needed. Candidates must be comfortable navigating construction job sites with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in all weather conditions.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of solid work experience required.
  • An associate, bachelor's, or trade certification in some form of engineering, similar field of study, or any combination of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Distribution engineering experience preferred.
  • AutoCAD experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Must hold a Valid Driver License.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field surveys to collect data for design purposes.
  • Prepare electrical distribution designs under the supervision of senior designers.
  • Review drawings including overall site plans and electrical single lines.
  • Assist project managers, engineers and technicians in interpreting the National Electric Code (NEC), National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and other applicable codes.
  • Conduct customer site visits to develop professional relationships.
  • Prepare meeting strategies, agendas, and minutes.
  • Develop customer charges as determined by work hours, applicable codes, and project requirements.
  • Support project teams in various design-related tasks.
  • Assist in project management tasks, including scheduling and budgeting.
