About The Position

The Gainesville, GA office of Carroll Daniel Engineering is seeking an experienced professional Electrical Designer II to support design efforts for power, lighting, and communication systems for industrial and commercial design projects. Experience with producing construction drawings for power distribution systems, UPS / emergency power generation, and lighting systems is required. Ability to work closely with clients and other engineering disciplines is essential.

  • Education: Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience: 5+ years relevant electrical design experience in the Industrial (food/beverage, manufacturing, automotive, distribution/logistics, etc.) market.
  • Skills & Knowledge: Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Procore, SKM Power Tools (preferred). Familiarity with NFPA & NEC is essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Certifications: EIT preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior engineers and design professionals to edit and create 3D models and related design documents.
  • Review and check own work with an emphasis on quality.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architectural, structural, mechanical, and civil engineers, to achieve integrated project solutions.
  • Participate in project planning, design reviews, and problem-solving during all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Develop comprehensive electrical designs, including power distribution systems, emergency power generation, UPS systems, lighting, and communications systems.
  • Conduct system analysis and calculations, including load analysis, short circuit and coordination studies, and Arc Flash analysis.
  • Provide technical support during the construction phase, including responding to RFIs (Request for Information) and reviewing submittals.
