We are seeking a motivated, reliable Electrical Designer I to join our team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or Associate’s degree in engineering technology preferred.
  • Professional experience may be substituted for formal education.
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in design and drafting required.
  • Minimum 3 years in AutoCAD and Revit experience required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Creative problem solving and attention to detail.
  • Ability to do mathematical computations as applied to engineering problems.
  • Ability to interpret plans and specifications.
  • Willingness to learn and support project management activities.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, projects, and schedules.
  • Ability to communicate through freehand sketching and illustration.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and strong work ethic.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Passed fundamentals of engineering exam preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and prepare construction documents, including scaled plans, specifications and cost estimates for design review, client review, permitting and construction as directed.
  • Research and understand as-built drawings, drawings from other disciplines and specifications.
  • Site investigations to field verify existing building/ site conditions as needed for a particular SOW.
  • Design take-offs for construction cost estimating.
  • Assist with construction administration which include processing RFI responses and submittal reviews.
  • Project planning and integrating engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval.
  • Prepare project designs and plans using computer assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and associated software.
  • Prepare required electrical calculations.
  • Work from drawings, sketches or scanned images, customer drawings, or government drawings or specifications.
  • Modify plans using manual drafting techniques.
  • Draft finished designs from sketches.
  • Work in a team environment of drafters, designers, and engineers to ensure accuracy and best practices of the concept for the organization.
  • Visit project sites and attend meetings to gain information and knowledge for the development and completion of project assigned.
  • Site investigations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
