About The Position

The Electrical Designer contributes to the development of detailed electrical and mechanical drawings, supporting high-quality project design and documentation. This role requires reliability, a willingness to learn, and the ability to take ownership of work while collaborating closely with Project Designers and Engineers. Designers are expected to manage their time effectively, maintain professional conduct, and engage in the design process with attention to detail and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the US. No visa sponsorship available.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and produce detailed electrical drawings in alignment with project standards and applicable codes.
  • Create full sets of drawings in Revit, including:
  • Setting up models and drawing sheets.
  • Editing and applying view templates.
  • Using integrated tools, add-ins, and symbol legends.
  • Coordinating with structural, mechanical, and architectural elements.
  • Ensuring compliance with EP design standards and code requirements.
  • Perform photometric studies and layout of emergency and egress lighting.
  • Layout fire alarm devices, lighting controls, and electrical circuits.
  • Specify lighting fixtures and complete fixture schedules.
  • Draft riser diagrams, motor and equipment schedules, and site plans.
  • Prepare voltage drop and fault current calculations.
  • Conduct initial review of shop drawings and respond to RFIs.
  • Apply applicable codes to design work and project planning.
  • Produce accurate and consistent construction documents following EP drafting standards.
  • Use tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam COMcheck, AGI 32, and SKM Power Tools.
  • Maintain clean and organized design records and proper file management.
  • Communicate clearly across disciplines, both internally and externally.
  • Review personal work for accuracy and using established checklists and coordinate with other trades.
  • Maintain reliable and consistent work hours and professional appearance.
  • Stay focused on tasks, meet deadlines, and manage own calendar.
  • Participate actively in meetings and contribute a collaborative team environment.
  • Build relationships with product reps through collaboration, discussion, and attending lunch and learns.
  • Take ownership of assigned work and ask for support when needed.
  • Balance work responsibilities with personal well-being.
