About The Position

We are hiring Electrical Design Technicians (Levels I-III) to support the development and integration of robust electrical systems for ASI's autonomous vehicle platforms. This is a hands-on, design-focused role that will be central to building out the schematics, harnesses, and component layouts that bring ASI's robotics solutions to life. Technicians and engineers in this role will work closely with electrical engineers, mechanical teams, and production personnel to create accurate, high-quality documentation and electrical designs that are production ready.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in electrical design, harness routing, or related technical field.
  • Associate degree or certificate in Electrical Engineering Technology, Drafting, or similar.
  • Familiarity with schematic capture and harness design tools (e.g., Altium, Zuken).
  • Basic understanding of BOMs and electrical documentation.
  • Hands-on experience in labs or production environments.
  • 3-5 years of experience in electrical design for vehicle or robotics systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of harness design, cable routing, and electrical CAD tools.
  • Proficiency in creating and managing BOMs and associated documentation.
  • Ability to interpret engineering specifications and collaborate across disciplines.
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD environments and integration of electrical designs into assemblies.
  • 6+ years in hands-on electrical design and documentation roles.
  • Expertise in wire harness architecture, system-level design documentation, and configuration control.
  • Experience mentoring others and leading design reviews.
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git, EPDM) and design best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and drive improvements in documentation and process.

Responsibilities

  • Support electrical harnesses and schematic design using tools such as Altium or Zuken.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Generate documentation packages for builds, including harness drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production to resolve design or build issues.
  • Perform basic electrical assembly or troubleshooting tasks as needed in lab settings.
  • Lead creation of detailed harness designs for new vehicle platforms and retrofits.
  • Develop and maintain system-level schematics and interconnect diagrams.
  • Own the BOM development process for assigned projects, including revision control.
  • Support 3D harness layout in CAD and integrate designs into mechanical models.
  • Coordinate cross-functional reviews with mechanical and software engineering teams.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for electrical design documentation and process best practices.
  • Mentor junior team members and review their work for accuracy and quality.
  • Drive improvements to design documentation workflows and tools.
  • Partner with Systems and Electrical Engineers to influence design strategy and system architecture.
  • Contribute to standardization efforts across platforms and business units.
