The Electrical Design Engineer at Vertiv Corporation will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, validation, and documentation of board-level hardware circuits and products. This position is based onsite at Vertiv's facility in Delaware, Ohio, and involves leading development projects in the field of electrical engineering. The engineer will contribute to the development of new product opportunities, working closely with contract resources and manufacturers for prototype and production board builds. In this role, the engineer will analyze trade-offs such as cost and time to market for design elements, ensuring that functional requirements are well-documented. Collaboration is key, as the engineer will work with various teams including hardware, firmware, software, system test, customer support, and manufacturing to address technical issues with minimal supervision. Proficiency in schematic capture tools like Mentor, as well as experience with high-speed signal layout and analog design, is essential. The engineer will also be responsible for debugging, validating, and developing manufacturing tests for board-level products, ensuring compliance with testing requirements such as ESD and EMI. A background in datacenter equipment hardware is considered a plus. Strong communication and collaboration skills are necessary, as the engineer will represent the engineering team in technical meetings both within Vertiv and with external partners. The role also includes responsibilities related to site preparation, budget control, and adherence to construction and project schedules, along with other duties as assigned.
