As an Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in new product development (NPD) and product improvement initiatives, working hands-on with schematic design, controls programming, and manufacturing support. Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • 2–5 years of experience in electrical design engineering
  • Experience with SolidWorks Electrical (highly preferred)
  • 1–5 years of CAD design experience (SolidWorks or similar)
  • Experience with HVAC systems, fans, blowers, or thermal systems (preferred)
  • Knowledge of circuit board design and layout
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and assembly
  • Experience with product testing and validation (plus)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and design standards
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced engineering environment

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical schematics using SolidWorks Electrical
  • Create and modify Carel controller programs and embedded controls
  • Support new product development (NPD) and existing product improvements
  • Perform circuit board design and layout
  • Build and test prototypes, including lab testing and validation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and controls issues in production
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and materials teams
  • Design for manufacturability (DFM), cost reduction, and efficiency
  • Develop engineering drawings and documentation per drafting standards
  • Support change control processes, item masters, and product releases
  • Source and evaluate electrical components and hardware
  • Assist with vendor communication and part qualification
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and process optimization
