Electrical Design Engineer

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in new product development (NPD) and product improvement initiatives, working hands-on with schematic design, controls programming, and manufacturing support. Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology
- 2–5 years of experience in electrical design engineering
- Experience with SolidWorks Electrical (highly preferred)
- 1–5 years of CAD design experience (SolidWorks or similar)
- Experience with HVAC systems, fans, blowers, or thermal systems (preferred)
- Knowledge of circuit board design and layout
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and assembly
- Experience with product testing and validation (plus)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and design standards
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced engineering environment
Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical schematics using SolidWorks Electrical
- Create and modify Carel controller programs and embedded controls
- Support new product development (NPD) and existing product improvements
- Perform circuit board design and layout
- Build and test prototypes, including lab testing and validation
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and controls issues in production
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and materials teams
- Design for manufacturability (DFM), cost reduction, and efficiency
- Develop engineering drawings and documentation per drafting standards
- Support change control processes, item masters, and product releases
- Source and evaluate electrical components and hardware
- Assist with vendor communication and part qualification
- Contribute to continuous improvement and process optimization
