Job Summary To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a/an Electrical Design Engineer located in Henrico, VA. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Electrical Design Engineer must work closely with sales, project managers, procurement, production, quality assurance and other engineers, and analyze feedback from customers to produce product designs. You must be an adept problem solver, have an excellent eye for design, and be willing to work as part of a team. You will communicate and coordinate among different types of engineers working on a project while adhering to project schedule and budget. What a typical day looks like: Develop electrical designs for critical power systems (variety from standard to robust and complex) Meeting with stakeholders to establish their requirements for a new or existing product or electrical system. Working with a team of engineers and CAD designers on engineering projects. Creates user friendly operation and maintenance manuals Validates testing using manual procedures, testing tools and database queries, as required. Cross functional team relationships with design engineers, quality department and production team Work with quality team on assessing quality metrics and analyzing current Product Design and Production times Build a culture of electrical safety in the department and throughout the company Creating prototypes, testing them, and analyzing the results. Validates testing using manual procedures, testing tools and database queries, as required Providing support during the entire building process to ensure that the design specifications are met. Analyzing problems that may arise during the manufacturing process and recommending solutions. Deliverables include initial technical support, inter-departmental interaction and correspondence, generation of Bill of Materials (BOMs), production & drawing/instruction packages, factory/on-site acceptance test plans, Operation & Maintenance manuals, submittals/deliverables & project close-out, and job cost analysis. Managing change control. Responsibilities may include some travel and/or availability for other than normal business hours.
