Electrical Design Engineer III – Nuclear
About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer III – Nuclear to support complex engineering projects within nuclear and nuclear-qualified facilities. In this senior-level role, you will apply advanced electrical engineering principles to solve complex design challenges with limited supervision. You will work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality electrical design solutions that support safe, compliant, and reliable operations. This position is ideal for an engineer with 10+ years of discipline experience who is ready to take on increased technical responsibility and contribute to projects of growing complexity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering or electrical design experience
- Experience supporting nuclear facilities or nuclear-related projects
- Strong understanding of electrical power, control, and/or instrumentation systems
- Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience in commercial nuclear power or DOE nuclear facilities
- Familiarity with plant modification processes and design change control
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience working in highly regulated environments
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical system design and analysis for nuclear and nuclear-qualified facilities
- Develop and review electrical design packages, including drawings, calculations, and specifications
- Solve complex engineering problems independently and provide technical recommendations
- Ensure compliance with applicable nuclear codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (IEEE, NEC, NFPA, NRC, etc.)
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project management, and operations
- Support design modifications, upgrades, and system improvements
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and designers as needed
