About The Position

At Redwire Space, we are a team of dreamers and doers, where the impossible becomes possible. We are on a mission to expand humanity's presence in space, pioneering new microgravity research technologies. Our projects include Bio-3D Printers capable of printing a meniscus in space and creating plant habitats on the ISS. We are looking for a Digital or Analog Associate Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Georgetown, IN, who is excited about commercial space and the challenges of operating electronics in the harshness of space. The candidate will be involved in all aspects of circuit design including digital and analog design, test, and analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in an Electrical Engineering discipline, or other related Field
  • Minimum 0-2 years of experience designing electronic circuits using ECAD based programs
  • PCB/Layout experience
  • Simulation experience using a Spice based tool
  • Experience working with Software and Mechanical Engineers

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of professional, relevant experience
  • Experience designing for commercial space, or traditional space with commercial product experience
  • Experience with Diptrace, Altium or Kicad
  • Seeking Experience in either Analog or Digital circuit design

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the design, build and test of space-based electronics for multiple projects
  • Electronic circuit design with layout using ECAD software
  • Design VAC and VDC analog circuits, up to 250V, including sensors and components connected by ADC and DAC circuitry
  • Design digital circuits with microcontrollers and high-speed communication protocols such as I2C, CAN, RS-232, RS-422, USB and Ethernet
  • Design electromechanical systems including step motors, DC motors, miniature solenoids, miniature pumps, feedback sensors and switches
  • Design electronics for high-reliability and EMI sensitive environments, with knowledge of EMI/EMC/ESD standards and testing
  • Proving out a design using simulation and mathematics
  • Interacting technically with customers and product/project management
  • Compile information and documentation for design reviews, verifications, and presentations
  • Conduct applicable reviews, meetings, and technical presentations
