About The Position

B&G Foods, Engineering Department has an opportunity for the role of Electrical Design and Drawing Coordinator focusing on all areas of operation at the Crisco manufacturing plant. The selected individual will have responsibility for planning, scheduling, and implementing electrical and instrumentation controls projects across the plant. This will include (but not limited to) other core functions such as E&I trainer and qualifier, Electrical and Mechanical drawings coordinator, change control, and owner of the Arc Flash Safety Program. The selected candidate will report to the Sr. Controls Engineer. This role will primarily be on a 5-day (Monday through Friday) schedule, but schedule flexibility is necessary for training, qualifications, or project support. Successful candidates will have effective communication skills, project management, advanced electrical skills, NFPA 70E expertise, and troubleshooting skills. This candidate will have consistently demonstrated leadership in their area of responsibility and a willingness to help in all areas of plant operations.

Requirements

Electrical design including elementary and single-line drawings
Demonstrated expertise in both process and packing E&I technology
Demonstrated AutoCAD skills, one-line drawings, and elementary drawings.
Demonstrated knowledge of safe electrical work
Monitoring Warehouse E&I projects to ensure plant standards and documentation are met
Lead and Assist groups and projects during plant shutdowns

Responsibilities

Leadership for E&I Skilled Technicians
Effectively coach E&I’s to continue to build skill level
Provide on the job training, coaching, and skill necessary to be successful in role
Meet with vendors and internal employees
Availability to help with troubleshooting of plant related issues to not only resolve the issue but build the skill of other E&I’s
Identify areas of opportunity for improvement
Support capital project requests and in the submission of projects
Attend change control as the E&I approver
Member of the team evaluating options for the future of the plant control system
Manage and facilitate the interface with Jetson for E&I drawing updates, Instrument Tag # assignments, Scheme number assignments.
Update electrical as builds in AutoCAD
Update/reconcile our plant electrical standards with new technologies in the plant
Creating install drawings for various retrofits or upgrades.
Update with as builds
Introduce new technologies to the facility to upgrade to more modern technology
Lead by example in all areas of Safety
Ensure all department personnel working with >50 volts are qualified
Ensure the reliability, integrity and code compliance of the electrical power and control system
Distribute all the necessary electrical PPE – 6-month glove exchange, face shields, safety barriers, and balaclava
Complete recommendations from Power Studies and ensure panels have correct arc flash labeling
Arc Flash Study and all follow ups.
Short Circuit Study and all follow ups.
Any time a project brings in a new piece of equipment it will go through change control. Need to verify that equipment does not change our short circuit capacity.
Drawings class for E&I’s – importance of drawings, plant drawing control system, standards, P&ID’s, Single Line
Trainer for P&ID ED and SLD drawings portion of the step-up card
Qualifier for PLC Data File, P&ID instruction, Drive Interface, and PSU inspection for the step-up card
Train E&I personal on Water Reclamation Systems
