About The Position

An Electrical Craft Helper assists a skilled journey-level worker engaged in one of the electrical trades. Typical assignments involve the maintenance and construction of electrical systems for buildings and facilities; installation and maintenance of overhead or underground power distribution systems; or shop repair activities. Apprentice training opportunities leading to craft positions are available in some departments.

Requirements

• Six months of full-time paid experience as a helper in an electrical trade.
• Successful completion of specific training programs or courses related to electrical work.
• A valid Class C driver's license issued by the California DMV.
• For certain positions, a valid Class B driver's license and medical certificate approved by the California DMV.

Nice To Haves

• High school graduation is desired but not required.
• Experience in the United States Armed Forces performing electrical work.
