About The Position

The Electrical Controls Technician at Saint-Gobain is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of electrical systems and equipment within the manufacturing plant. This role involves hands-on troubleshooting and repair of electrical processes, systems, and controls to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency. The technician will also participate in project teams for new equipment installations and capital improvements.

Requirements

  • 5 years of hands-on experience with industrial controls and engineering practices.
  • Experience with HMIs, PLCs, motion controls, Rockwell (Control Logix, Factory Talk), ethernet/IP, and Modbus communication networks.
  • Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLC, Auto-Cad, and SAP.
  • Possession of an Electrical Journeyman's Card.
  • Understanding of NEC and NFPA70E.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on troubleshooting and repair of electrical processes, systems, and controls.
  • Assist in answering line calls from production to troubleshoot electrical and extrusion problems.
  • Create electrical schematics and blueprints for new electrical installations and update existing blueprints.
  • Participate in project teams for new equipment installations and capital improvement, sourcing vendors, issuing purchase orders.
