About The Position

Oversee development, programming, and troubleshooting of automated control systems using PLC programming products, such as Allen Bradley in ladder logic and block diagram, to create electrical control systems.

Requirements

  • This position requires a Master’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field and 12 months of related experience.
  • Must also have 12 months of experience with each of the following:
  • Developing, programming, and troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLCs in ladder logic and block diagram.
  • Reading control schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert as an Electrical Engineer as part of a test systems development team.
  • Working with basic power distribution for 600-volt class systems (including motor control centers, distribution panels that feed auxiliary support equipment and lighting, AC substation transformation, power transmission, welding, steam systems, compressed air systems, and hydraulics).

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining subject matter expertise as electrical engineer in a test systems development team. Assisting in the development of standards, processes, and procedures in the department, and responsible for developing project scope and teams.
  • Completing engineering and design work related to install and retro-fit of varied, complex equipment, including with basic power distribution for 600volt class systems, motor control centers, distribution panels feeding auxiliary support equipment and lighting, AC substation transformation, power transmission, welding, steam systems, and compressed air systems and hydraulics
  • Reading electrical and control schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Enhancing equipment performance by developing and installing modifications
  • Confirming equipment performance by conducting tests/evaluation of physical assets PLC
  • Supporting implementation of Quality Assurance and Food Safety initiatives
  • Performing infrastructure requirements and needs assessments
  • Applying mechanical troubleshooting skills electrically to resolve or repair issues
  • Using knowledge of the health and safety regulations, including Highland Baking Company’s Current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), safe practices, electrical metering and inspection tools, Allen Bradley software, networking configuration, modifying electrical drawings using AutoCAD Electrical, Rockwell software, Robotics, FactoryTalk, Studio 5000, Studio 5000 view designer, all facility electrical and control needs
  • Designing Human Machine Interface for better understanding and positive user experience
  • Updating electrical drawings
  • Tracking changes made in the programs and rewriting them
  • Reviewing electrical requirements, drawings, and blueprints and ensuring they are met for new projects
  • Assisting maintenance personnel with advanced day-to-day equipment troubleshooting
  • Building medium-size control panels using shop drawings following electrical standards.
