About The Position

We are looking for an Electrical Controls Engineer to design and implement innovative solutions that bring our automated equipment to life. You will be joining our unique Engineering team at our world-class USA Hub in Montgomery, AL. At Premier Tech Systems and Automation, we enhance our clients' manufacturing facility efficiency by integrating innovative and high-value systems leveraging the full potential of robotics. We are among the largest conditioning, handling, and packaging automated equipment suppliers in the world - whether for nutrition, agriculture, organics or industrial products.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of proven experience working in an industrial automation manufacturing environment
  • Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or related technical field with a focus on the manufacturing of automated industrial machinery
  • Knowledge in electrical engineering principles, standards, and practices such as NFPA, UL, and NEC
  • Strong proficiency with CAD software such as EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical
  • Familiarity with automation and control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and industrial communication protocols
  • Ability to perform functional testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of electrical systems to ensure proper operation of machines
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills with the ability to think critically
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems and equipment for innovative industrial packaging machines
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable electrical standards, codes, and safety regulations
  • Preparing accurate cost and material estimates for projects
  • Providing technical support and guidance to manufacturing team members during installation and troubleshooting
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and define new product development opportunities
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and reliability
  • Design and develop safety programs for automation systems including robotics
  • Review and validate safety performance level of control systems
  • Technical recommendations to ensure seamless integration of third-party equipment
