We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to support the Automation Development Team in Elgin, IL in designing and building the automation and robotic equipment that builds world-class Tesla products. Electrical engineers are responsible for owning and implementing the solution from project concept to installation; this includes machine concepting, electrical infrastructure planning, detailed electrical design/layout, managing control panel and machine assembly, acceptance testing, and installation/integration at the factory. Since each Tesla machine is a custom design and build, the Electrical Engineer must have a desire to learn and implement rapidly changing technology to deliver the best possible solution. This full-time role requires the flexibility to travel to other Tesla facilities (up to 15%). The ideal candidate takes pride in their ability to play numerous roles as a project advances through its many phases. Communication skills, analytical ability, and great attention to detail while working under tight deadlines are extremely important. This candidate is familiar with and appreciates an environment where individuals carry significant responsibility and where excellent work is encouraged, noticed, and rewarded.
